Smart home kit

A whole-home smart home kit, configured before it ships.

Smart home kit visual for Tara smart home planning

Tara turns the usual smart home kit search into a reviewed plan: windows, exterior doors, rooms, lights, thermostats, doorbells, presence zones, and optional camera zones.

Who it is for

For comparing the complete hardware package.

Use this page when you are comparing the physical hardware package: what ships, how device counts are set, and what Tara configures first.

What it includes

What this page covers.

What preconfigured means

The planning work happens before the box arrives.

Sized for the house

The room, window, exterior-door, light, thermostat, doorbell, presence, and camera-zone counts determine the draft. A one-bedroom home does not receive the same package as a larger house.

Compatible hardware chosen together

Tara reviews the actual home and any devices you already own before confirming product models, radios, bridges, or subscriptions. The product list is not guessed from a generic bundle.

Paired and labeled

The local server, device names, room groups, and starting routines are prepared before shipping where the selected hardware supports preconfiguration.

One handoff

The phone app, room labels, mounting checklist, and initial automations arrive as one plan so the household is not left combining several setup guides.

Self-install scope

You mount the devices. Tara handles the integration work.

What Tara handles

Tara handles the scope review, device compatibility, protocol plan, local server setup, labels, pairing plan, starting automations, and app handoff.

What you handle

You place, power, and mount the included devices using the room-by-room checklist. Any line-voltage wiring or work that requires a licensed trade remains outside the standard kit.

Price before purchase

The public starter price is a one-bedroom starting point. Tara confirms the device count, exact hardware, optional cameras, installation boundary, and final price before anything ships.

How it works

From home count to reviewed plan.

  1. Start with a home-size draft
  2. Adjust every count
  3. Submit the plan
  4. Confirm scope on a call

FAQ

Quick answers.

Is the starter price the same for every home?

No. The starter package begins at a one-bedroom scope, and final pricing changes with the count and install scope.

Can I include cameras?

Yes. The camera kit adds exterior camera zones to the starter kit scope.

Is this a box of random smart-home products?

No. Tara confirms device compatibility, prepares the local server and room plan, and labels the handoff around the home before shipping.

Does the kit require a monthly subscription?

No required monthly subscription is needed for the core local routines. Optional third-party cloud services may have their own fees, and Tara identifies those before the final plan.

Can Tara work with devices I already own?

Often, yes. Existing devices are reviewed for integration support, local control, cloud dependency, and whether keeping them will make the finished system easier or harder to maintain.
